Hotstar is releasing Alia Bhatt’s Sadak 2; Tweeter users calling for Boycotting Hotstar. How Hypocritical!

Social media has been a new platform for many to show their emotions. Celebrities are the one who have to face the brunt. And of late there has a lot been said about Nepotism. Now it’s the turn of Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt, the tweeter users are calling for boycotting the streaming platform Hot star. Yes, Alia Bhatt’s new film Sadak 2 will be releasing on the digital platform.

Sadak 2

Many of them saying to ban the channel for releasing Nepo Kid’s movie. And in the wake of the late Sushant Singh Rajput’s death this topic has got more fuel.  Suddenly there has been an increase in the number of fans of the deceased actor. The latest trend that is doing the rounds is #UninstallHotstar. But in doing so, isn’t it just being plain hypocrite.

If you have not yet come across the trend, then you are spared. Because #UninstallHotstar is huge trend on the social media platform twitter. Movie buffs might have not watched films starring Shushant Singh Rajput, such as Detective Byomkesh Bakshi and Sonchiriya in theaters. The same people now do not want to watch Sadak 2 which features Alia Bhatt on Hotstar. Because she is a product of Nepotism! See it for yourself.

It will be interesting to know the source of the trend. And yes, the people have the choice of not watching movie at all and still have a sound sleep. But no this is not how they want to function, all you want is keep on tweeting and trending. And seriously what’s the fun in that? But the people who have started the trend and also continuing, they are not taking into account the fact that Hotstar is the same streaming platform that was responsible for having the biggest opening for Dil Bechara, which ironically happens to be Shushant’s last film.

Well, reports are supporting that and this is happening because the Twitter users came together for the OTT platform and literally urged users to watch the film for Sushant. Which is a good thing, right? But the same people this time around are urging to uninstall Hotstar, I mean, they have completely lost the plot.

While understanding how nepotism is preserved by people who are keener in finding out what is Taimur Ali Khan doing from the time the lockdown happened, it should be easy to assume that after all it is business. If it’s still not clear then my recommendation is using the frontal lobe of the brain would be beneficial. You should acknowledge the fact that at the end of the day it’s all about commerce and trade. Also, just because of some trend, Hotstar will not give up the platform, as it is the great source of income for them.

Thus, in spite of all the hoopla on Twitter Sadak 2 directed by Mahesh Bhatt will hit the screens on the 28th of August.

So, yes, all you fans of Sushant Singh Rajput should refrain from name-calling and other stuff. Indeed, it is very unfortunate that we had to hear about his untimely death, and for sure several doubts about some big fishes of the film industry enjoying monopoly have been raised. But those talks are being disrupted by this herd-mentality that is up against the wall with some or the other hashtag trends.

This act of convenience must be done away with! And that’s the way forward!
